the joy of constance

A whole new lineup for the absence lately.

Does anyone realise everyone's sporting black nails lately? Fingernails, toenails, everywhere I go. Feels as though they're all ready for the Christmas party or doing the anti-Christmas.

Well, not me! I gots SIA-girl red nails ho yeah! (thanks mythili love you for buying it and doing most of it for me cos I'll mess it up). All in the spirit of the holiday season and they'll be off by CNY. Wouldn't want to be labelled as cheena. Anyway, killer red is H-A-W-T. Not just for aunties okay... The right shade makes it classic and eye-catching. (so don't be close-minded)

Mmm, that reminds me, my fingernails are going shiny pink. The anti-black. Love the anti-trend. As soon as I get the top coat. Oh and, for anyone who's thinking of neon pink or hot pink, it's seriously not advisable. It's terribly tacky, like.. like.. tights that hug a bit of the sole. Tights are good, but not THOSE. They scream faux pas. Blinding in a bad way.

Done playing Blackwell.

Updates updates. My patience wavers like Starhub coverage when it comes to my brother. Mrs Aidil is considerably patient and all ... which was how I started out. Nice, forgiving and efficient. Sigh, what can I do. I just can't help twitching when I hear or see an incoherent statement. If you have to hear it all the time... you'll go nuts too. Okay, that's just me.

C'mon. Being invincible doesn't mean "cannot see". As is knewed, noisely, teached, nevermind.

Twitch twitch twitch. An alarm just goes off in my head.

To give him credit, he's learnt fast enough, done better than some p6s and sec4s,uh-huh. He's been patient enough and endured my "NOOOOOOOO!!!! WRONG!!!!"s and he's just a kid. A boy kid. Which gives him a worse attention span.

Oh, he has this ... thing to call it "the whole entire thing" WHY CAN'T HE JUST SAY "THE WHOLE THING" OR "THE ENTIRE THING" WHY!

He watched too much TV, he's moody during studying (understandable and I do give concessions) and he tries to last-minute but fails badly at doing so cos he's freaking tired from watching TV. I don't get it. English is a chore to him, heh it reminds me of the relationship between Chinese and I.

Me: Do your corrections.

Brother: I feel like dying.

Me: No.. that's the easy way out.

Brother: NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Okay who is responsible for this. I don't understand, he's treating English like a chore and its forcing me to do it too cos other than making him learn by rote I'm practically at my wits end cos when I do something less boring he would rather not do it and do it "rote".

You know, like how its a must to learn Chinese words by rote cos there are like 10 000 characters and everyone is different. That's why I like English better, there's less routine.

Now, that's why its frustrating.

Okay, moving on.

Ahaha, if you would kindly direct your attention to the tag that advertises Low Kay Hwa novels. I might enjoy reading, but my taste is definitely beyond those. Even the covers look cheesy. Like something churned out of a washed-up Channel 8 drama serial.

Which reminds me...

I was watching Ellen and then channel-flipping. Flip flip flip ... Channel 8.

Me: booooooooring. *proceeds to press flipping button*

Brother: NOOO!! It's Love Blossoms 2!

He's been auntie-fied.

I gotta hit the library. For the books and erm, the fountain of knowledge. Not excited about school though. Never thought I would need a library kaki after exams.

Hehs, I thought Low Kay Hwa was a middle-aged auntie... turns out its some geeky guy in his 20s. Looks so. Heh, Huiyi reads em'! Okay fine, reading tastes are up to discretion. Anyway, she let me read one of those. (Hehe, at least you're reading!) Can't believe how sappy it was! I read a little though.

:P How much pride went down the toilet in the making of those novels? Okay okay, all the teenage girl fans.

I don't know, it's .. it's as gay as Clay Aiken.

Alright, disclaimers. If you're a fan, than that's not my problem. I like Life of Pi, Hairil thinks its a roundabout book. See? We all have our own little erm, mostly-unliked likings. So I'm not gonna judge you on that, cos I got my own too! Aha (at least I don't like cheesy novels!!!!!!!)

Mmm as for my mostly-unliked likings.. wait a sec, I'm not s'posed to talk about this.

Life of Pi is very well-liked though.

Heh heh enough naughtiness.

That with writers too. Well, at least you wrote something. Something painful for me to read though. *shrugs* Take it with a pinch of salt, I know my blog is painful to read to some, but its not to me. Okay okay, at the end of the day... as long as you like it, as long as your teenage female acne-fighting, finger-crossing, wide-eyed-hoping, love-strangling fans worship it (just read the website), fine by me.

The last disclaimer: This is a critique too. I can talk about nails, clothes, pop culture references, guys and remain un-superficial.

Plus, I don't over-love myself. Seen a terrible case of an ego-exploding blog. Take cover, the debris will blind you with its life in self-denial.

Never judge a book by its cover (can't say that about Low Kay Hwa's novels though). A physics teachers in his 50s who wears glasses and a bow tie beat a guy who's got muscles and the looks of Leonardo Dicaprio and Ben Affleck in his 20s at Survivor. Uhhuh. Being pretty won't win you a million dollars but it will win you the affections of Mythili. :)

My last report of this post: Self-denial is bad for health. Humans. We just want to be something we're not. Of course, this holds true for everyone and is sadly exaggerated for some members of our community.

Societal expectations, what mama always wanted you to be, the grass is always greener on the other side, low self-esteem, forgivable to some extent.

Or, if you can't beat them, join them.

Hahs, but every once in a while, you'll be annoyed. *winks* Love ya Fatimah.

just another day

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

I WAS ONE WHO SURVIVED AND LIVED TO TELL THE HORRIBLE TALE. DRAMA-DRAMA~

I ORGANISED MY ENTIRE SEC-3 STUFF

OKOK, fine. but u should've seen the mountains (read: not mountain. plural;MOUNTAINS! montanas!)

in fact, the table was too small fer me lay out my stuff. soooo, them papers were all over the floor. i took a few hours only to ...

1.lay everything out (the papers were chucked everywhere)

2.finish organising a'maths and SS and EH.

yep. that's it. and worse still, I'M NOT DONE YET!!!

sian, i still gotta finish it. grrr, when will this nightmare ever end? my mum's been nagging at me to organise, fer about 2 weeks? and when i finally decided to do it ... haiiiii.

anyways, i'm gonna hit AMKhub, JP and Raffles with sharon and stephanie tomorrow in a black tank and blue 3/4s! YEAHH! that's positive. more neoprints, phone calls, soup from Raffles wherever, Japanese crepes Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

how the hell am i supposed to finish organising, and actually start studying. again. btw, my bro fell on his front cuz he slipped on the plastic i used to do organising. OWCH. then he ran back into his rm and cried. i feel guilty. WOW i have a soul. lol. but it really hurts to fall on your entire front. whatever annoyance i had of him before was kinda sent on a guilt trip, cuz before that he was doing some annnoying stuff and disturbing me.

well, yesterday was rather exciting. the family gathering rocked! woohoo. even though i didn't swim, but i was duly entertained. by who else but my baby cousin shawn and his new warren-resident buddy, james. yep

JAMES; 3 YRS 6 MTHS SHAWN; 3 YRS 4 MTHS

the difference in height is amazing. what 2 months can do to a toddler's height. anyways, shawn has learnt how to diao people. HONEST! he totally rolled his baby eyes at me. i swear. he learnt how to"scare'people, like telling me i'm gonna be eaten by a lion if i go to his uncle's house. like i;m scared. anyways, jasmin told me it'd happened to her too, ever since he narrated his nightmare. annnnnnd .. he learnt how to threaten james. wow. i wonder if he was annoyed cuz james was copying him.

i.e "later the magic guy (i think david copperfield) come and give u cup of water ... then cup dunno go where and water all over your head."

in a babyish talk of course .. ah, his vocab is expanding. and james has the disgusting, unhygenic habit of stuffing his hands into his shoes and running around barefoot. unwittingly, i swear, i shook his hand. -.- GROSS

shawn now knows how to pull a face and stick his tongue out at u. charrrrming, i think he learnt that from me.

THIS FASHION's got some great fashions that are cheap! woots, i MUST MUST MUST have the pink minnie mouse dress-like top, and tights, plus the mini and the pink-orange colour top. sadly, there's no way my mum let me buy or sponsor. i hope it's not out of stock, even though i think it mostly likely is.. coveted.

hmm, other than the yummy beef ball noooodles and slightly strange vitagen collagen rose, lavender and lactobascillus(YEAH! I SPELT IT. izzt right?) borrowed these .. well i'm starting to feel stupid from the lack of literary works. seeing cheryl and dorisa devour stephen king novels, which i do not have the patience to read a book that is as thick as my phy or chem textbk, much less the entire series, i'm having a nagging feeling to go read or my english shall remain stagnant, carn find the patience to leaf thru the sch library lah. kinda scared it'd get stuck at sec 2. lol, sec 2 wasn;t much progress. thank god i found the patience to look thru da dictionary n force myself to rmb words.

sooo...

1. teenage advisory: total trivia and everything you need to know --- FINISHED

2. first girl
3. worlds apart

4. propaganda in war and peace --- one more chappie

heh heh, my relatives impressed when i read propaganda. bleah, quite informative actually. plus teenage advisory tells u fun stuff. gotta go return my sch library horrible histories.

plus, whatever happened ytd kinda proved that i'm not a wearer of heels. i tried bringing my bro to tuition, in a feat that i'd thought i'd never do. wear heels outside the house for a short distance. now i seriously wonder how models walk in those killers. i slipped and the right side of my right foot was covered with the pavement print.

so yeah... updates on my holiday plans and tomorrow... tomorrow! lame.

hari raya at fatimah's

well, sometimes i kinda like my blog being exclusive to my social circle. oh well, today was quite fun. my not-so-adventurous stomach and small bladder had challenges today. honestly, i'm not so used to fatimah's house's food. thosai?? u shld see sharon... it's amazing how someone so small can eat so much and not get an increase in height and width. 3 pieces of thosai and some coconut-thingy. scary. sharon, i think u ate more than mythili or huiyi. just not used to it lah, no worries...

Fatimah's mama rite, haha fatimah's mama, just as crazy as she is. her cousin undeniably cute and her aunt n her mama r quite hilarious. hard 2 belive they r 8 yrs apart. right, miss yana came with her husband. damn pretty leh. no wonder he married her. hehe.

sooo i guess i'll give an update on today... we all dressed up and went for neos! LITERALLY.

mythili: classy, upmarket, garden party lady. with that hair and shoes to match, sure thing. hehe, i saw her in the dress without the white top inside. LOW-CUT and sexy

sharon: shibuya citizen i swear. striking hot pink tie. checkered and frilled mini, white top, accecories, she should go to Harajuku, and impress Gwen Stefani

cornstance: ...

huiyii: LITTLE RED CUTIE PIE

who's uploading the neoprints again? one of the most successful i guess.hehe.

(THIS JUST IN: MY BROTHER HAS BURPED ONE OF THE MOST DISGUSTING N LOUDEST BURPS IN HIS 8 YEAR OLD LIFE. OVER)

fatimah was very shiny and shimmery. haha.. i feel kinda naked without the yellow jacket, and cold. so embarassing. dunno of the shopping centre or the bus stop has pervos or not. horrible experience. "shhh"
